charles james fox tidings extended back up to Erika Kirk as she broke down in tears while talking about her late husband Charlie Kirk, by cutting the cameras. Erika had an emotional breakdown while discussing the assassinated Turning Point USA founder with Jesse Watters on Wednesday, November 5, in her first sit-in interview since the murder.
Erika talked about the early days of her relationship with Kirk, describing how she felt watching his career grow. She described how she always supported him and believed in his Turning Point USA.
Watters showed clips of Kirk throughout the interview, capturing Erika’s reaction. She broke down in tears after watching one video. “This is the longest video I've watched of him," Erika said, dabbing her eyes. She then bowed her head, saying, "Just give me a second."
Erika took a few deep breaths, with Watters telling her calmly, "Take your time."
The prerecorded interview was then paused, and when Erika returned, she had composed herself. Her eyes, however, remained teary.
Fox News showed photos of Erika and her husband to patch over the time cut.
"Charlie was on a mission to save western civilization," Jesse said to prompt the interview forward. "That's what you signed up for?"
Erika replied, "Well, no. I didn't sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life. It just so happens that that's what he was doing.”
Kirk, 31, was allegedly shot dead by Tyler Robinson on September 10 during an appearance at a campus event in Utah. The shooting happened around 12:20 pm local time during a student Q&A at UVU in Orem.
Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder; obstruction of justice - moving a firearm; obstruction of justice - disposing of clothing; witness tampering - telling a roommate to delete text messages; witness tampering - directing a roommate to stay quiet; and violent offence committed in presence of a child. The prosecution has also filed notice of intent to seek the death penalty. "The decision to seek the death penalty is based on the available evidence and circumstances and nature of the crime,” they said in a court filing.
