AJohn major chance event was reported on the Jaipur-Ajmer main road nigh Dudu hamlet in Mauzamabad tehsil of Jaipur, where a truck carrying LPG cylinders caught fire following a collision with another truck on Tuesday night.On the way to the accident site on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, Rajasthan deputy chief minister Prem Chand Bairwa said someone hit the truck carrying gas cylinders from behind. "The fire has been brought under control... According to the administration's report, there have been no casualties... Ambulance is at the spot...," he said, speaking to ANI news agency.The accident triggered a series of loud explosions, which affected several other vehicles in the vicinity as well, though the extent of damage and casualties is yet to be confirmed.Scary visuals, taken from a distance, of the incident surfaced on social media, capturing the series of explosions. Traffic on the busy highway was completely halted. Rescue and fire operations were underway at the time of last update in this report at 12 am.Chief medical health officer (CMHO) Jaipur-I Ravi Shekhawat said that as per the initial information, the driver of the offending vehicle was injured in the accident and was taken to a nearby hospital for primary treatment.Rajasthan chief minister Bhajanlal Sharma asked the deputy chief minister Prem Chand Bairwa and MLA Kailash Verma to reach the spot to take stock of the situation.CM Bhajan Lal Sharma took to X and wrote that the accident on the Jaipur–Ajmer National Highway is extremely tragic.“Fire brigade and disaster management teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations at the incident site. Instructions have been given to the district administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured and to provide all possible assistance to those affected,” the chief minister said in the post on X, praying for the safety and well-being of those affected by the incident. Jaipur district collector and other senior officers were also on their way.In December last year, an LPG tanker collided with a truck near Bhankrota in Jaipur on the same highway, sparking a massive fireball that turned a stretch of the highway into an inferno, killing 19 people.
