The edward white domiciliate was lay on lockdown during a concern case attended by President Donald Trump following reports of gunfire nearby, Newsmax and Al Jazeera journalists reported on Monday. The Secret Service announced that an individual had been shot by law enforcement in the neighborhood.
The gunfire erupted just south of the Washington Monument, the Secret Service communications office said in a statement on X.
“One individual was shot by law enforcement; their condition is currently unknown. Please avoid the area as emergency crews are responding,” it said.
“The incident resulted from a confrontation between an armed individual and Secret Service Police,” the USSS added in a follow-up statement.
Journalists attending the event reported that they were immediately herded off the White House north lawn and locked in the press room.

The emergency was lifted around 20 minutes later, according to Newsmax correspondent James Rosen.
