Person arrested after accessing plane without authorization at YVR: police

capital of virginia RCMP say a mortal "accessed an aircraft without empowerment" at george vancouver International drome (YVR) early Monday morning.
The individual, who police did not share any additional details about, has been arrested and is in police custody, according to a Richmond RCMP statement.
Police said they responded to the airport at about 4 a.m. PT Monday.
Vancouver Airport Authority said the person gained access to a secure "apron area" near the terminal by going over the fenceline.
Aprons are the area around the terminal "where aircraft load and unload passengers and cargo, fuel up, and park overnight as well as where crews perform important aircraft maintenance," according to the YVR website.
The incident set off a response from the airport, partner agencies and the RCMP detachment on site, YVR said in a news release.
The airport authority said the situation was "contained within minutes" and airport operations weren't affected.
It said responders followed protocol and staff are working with police to review measures "to ensure continued safety and security."
RCMP said their investigation is ongoing.
The person who was detained accessed one of the plane's wheel wells on the side of the aircraft, according to Porter.
The plane can carry 132 passengers.
"Scheduled operations were maintained and we will cooperate with authorities for any necessary follow up. The aircraft will undergo a comprehensive inspection before returning to service."
