TAmil Nadu authorities shaping word unrecorded: In a important turn in Tamil Nadu politics, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee on Wednesday extended full support to Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) to form the government after the party fell short of a majority by 10 seats. However, the backing comes with a condition. In a press release, the Congress said its support would be contingent on keeping out any “communal forces” that do not believe in the Constitution of India.“Tamil Nadu Congress Committee and the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) has decided to extend its full support to the TVK to form the government. Our support shall be conditional upon the TVK keeping out from this alliance any communal forces that do not believe in the Constitution of India." Preparations are underway for oath-taking ceremony of TVK chief Vijay, which is likely to take place on May 7 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.An AIADMK-TVK alliance?The Opposition AIADMK was also thrown into the mix, with the party spokesperson's remarks generating buzz of another alliance. “The majority decision will be taken by the high command. If he has to turn the dream into reality, it has to come from Mr Vijay's side,” said spokesperson Kovai Sathyan when asked if the AIADMK would ally with the TVK.TVK won 108 seats in 234-member Tamil Nadu assembly. Congress, which contested the polls as part of DMK-led alliance, won five seats.Vijay thanks TN people for historic mandateVijay, late on Tuesday, thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for delivering what he called a “historic and transformative mandate” to the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in the April 23 assembly elections.Calling the verdict a “miracle” that has shaken Indian politics, he credited young voters for the party’s remarkable performance. He emphasised that the enthusiasm and participation of youngsters played a decisive role in shaping the outcome, signalling a shift in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape and reinforcing TVK’s rise as a strong alternative.
