It has also played a very positive role in the economy of Nordic countries, and created thousands of new jobs,” the Prime Minister said.During the joint press conference after the summit, Finnish PM Petteri Orpo said the Nordic countries share similar objectives with India, including “strengthening the rule-based international order and responding to climate change with sustained multilateral action.” Denmark PM Mette Frederiksen also said in the world order which was changing rapidly, it was important for countries which believe in democracy to work together.“We cannot say that India is a middle power. You are one of the biggest powers. It's not very easy to say that the Nordic countries are a middle power because we are too small to be a middle power. But when we are united, the Nordic countries, then we are a middle power,” Frederiksen said.PM Modi's Italy visitPM Modi will reach Italy soon, on his first bilateral visit to the country, after he attended the G7 summit in June 2024 and a G20 gathering three years earlier.During PM Modi's visit, India and Italy are expected to upgrade their relationship to that of a special strategic partnership, an Italian government official told Reuters news agency.The Prime Minister will meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday at the 17th-century Villa Doria Pamphili, and the two leaders are expected to adopt a joint declaration to strengthen their partnership.
