The luxury compound has been a major passion project for the couple ever since they quietly bought the land back in 2018. The grand plans for the property include a giant 14,500-square-foot main house, a pool house, a private gym, and advanced eco-friendly heating systems. However, construction on the mansion has now reportedly come to a complete halt.Multiple contractors file claimsAs per a report in The Daily Mail, the official documents filed against the property show that the couple owes a total of $2,108,856.63 for the construction work. The biggest bill comes from a luxury building company called Flower Construction, which is demanding $1,356,157.54. They did most of the heavy lifting on the mansion, including the framing, brickwork, plumbing, electrical wiring, drywall, and installing the heating and cooling systems.On top of that, four other specialized subcontractors have filed their own claims for unpaid work, specifically for digging out advanced eco-friendly heating systems and building the estate's drainage infrastructure.Construction slowdown reportedly began during legal battleReports suggest that work on the luxury mansion began slowing down toward the end of 2025 before grinding to a complete halt early this year. This shutdown directly overlapped with the period when Lively was locked in a highly publicized, intense legal battle with her It Ends With Us director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.Blake had accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and managing a retaliatory smear campaign against her, creating one of Hollywood's most talked-about legal feuds. As the case moved through the legal system, several of Baldoni's counterclaims were thrown out, while many of Lively's harassment allegations similarly did not advance.The remaining legal issues were on track for a New York federal trial before both parties unexpectedly reached a zero-dollar settlement, completely avoiding a dramatic courtroom showdown.
