Sabrina Carpenter granted temporary restraining order against man who showed up at her home

soda water asterisk Sabrina Carpenter has been granted a temporary restraining dictate against a adult male who she says tried to drive his way into her Los Angeles home “unannounced and uninvited” in incidents she called "deeply alarming."
In her signed declaration, Carpenter says that on May 23, Applegate trespassed onto a neighbour’s property to breach the security fencing that protects her home. She says he then advanced at her front door and physically grabbed the handle to try and force his way in.
“It is clear to me that his approach was deliberate, calculated and aggressive, which is deeply alarming,” Carpenter wrote, calling it “among the most disturbing violations of personal safety and privacy I have ever experienced."
“The totality of Applegate's conduct has caused me significant and ongoing fear for my personal safety,” Carpenter noted, including as evidence images from Ring security camera footage that show the man at her doorstep.
She alleges that after her private security intervened, the man refused to leave.
"He then fabricated the outrageous and entirely false claim that he personally knew me and that I was expecting him. This was a complete lie."
The documents say Applegate was arrested that day, but Carpenter says that less than 24 hours later, he came back and waited outside her home for hours.
She also says he returned for a third consecutive day, parking near her gate until L.A. Police called to the scene again. Images of his car are also included in the court filing.
“His pattern of stalking, trespassing, and surveillance has caused me severe and ongoing emotional distress."
According to legal documents, security investigations determined that Applegate's behaviour had been going on since at least April 20, 2026. Carpenter noted a “clear and deeply troubling escalation pattern" over the course of a month.
In a signed declaration, Detective Peter Doomanis of the Los Angeles Police Department wrote that Applegate “developed a disturbing and irrational fixation” on Carpenter.
A judge has ordered Applegate to stay at least 100 yards away from the singer, her home, car and workplace, as well as her sister and sister’s boyfriend, who live with her.
A follow-up court hearing is set for 17 June and Applegate is also due in criminal court on June 18 over his arrest for criminal trespassing.
