Moments later, multiple gunshots are heard, triggering panic as people scramble to safety and run away from the spot. Eyewitnesses said around 10 to 12 rounds were fired at the spot. The victims attempted to flee, but the attackers continued shooting.Ratan Lubana suffered a bullet injury to his abdomen, while another person sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Both injured men were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 and were later referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh, after receiving primary treatment.Following the incident, the police control room alerted all crime branch units across the district.Police teams immediately launched a chase after the suspects, who were fleeing on a motorcycle. The pursuit continued up to the Ramgarh area, where police attempted to intercept them.Ratan Lubana, a resident of Mansa Devi Complex, is reportedly a stakeholder in a club located in Sector 5. He is also a close relative of a local councillor in Panchkula.The Panchkula Police are expected to hold a press conference on the matter soon.Accused opened fire despite warningsSources told HT that despite repeated warnings to stop, the accused allegedly opened fire on the crime branch teams. In the ensuing exchange of fire, both suspects were shot in the leg before being overpowered and arrested.According to initial information, the arrested accused have been identified as Harpreet (18), a resident of Hoshiarpur in Punjab, and Jaswinder, a resident of Jagraon in Punjab. Both have been admitted to a hospital for treatment and are currently under police guard.Sources further claimed that the two shooters are suspected to have links with the gang of notorious gangster Rohit Godara. However, police have not officially confirmed any gang affiliation so far.
