Former MP chief minister Digvijaya Singh’s term in the Rajya Sabha is coming to an end.Congress’ media department head Pawan Khera has been given a Rajya Sabha ticket from Karnataka, where the party will get three seats. Khera had once questioned if there was any shortcomings in his devotion after he was overlooked by the party a few years ago for a ticket for the Upper House of Parliament.Party leader Praveen Chakraborty finally managed to secure a berth in Rajya Sabha after playing the role of an important mediator between Vijay’s TVK and the Congress following the DMK’s defeat in the assembly polls. The TVK had announced that it would not put up a candidate and gave the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Tamil Nadu to the Congress.Kharge’s media manager for all practical purposes, Pranav Jha, has been rewarded with a Rajya Sabha ticket from Jharkhand. A student of Delhi University, Jha’s election also signals the party’s overtures for the Brahmins.Mansoor Ali Khan has been fielded from Karnataka and Dalit leader Neeraj Dangi got a berth from his home state Rajasthan.
