SEnior u.s. Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy resigned on fri o'er portfolio storage allocation adding that he testament continue to remain a party member and legislator.The development came two days after Reddy had joined the new expanded cabinet led by chief minister DK Shivakumar.Reddy expressed his disappointment over the allocation of the ministry, Bengaluru Development Department, after CM Shivakumar had earlier promised him to provide the same.The Bengaluru Development Department ministry was given to Krishna Byre Gowda. He is a great friend. We are the closest friends among the Cabinet. We will sort out the problem,” Shivakumar said.Reddy remains one of the Congress party’s most influential leaders in Bengaluru and has long been a prominent figure in the city’s political and organisational affairs.His departure from the ministry, while remaining in the party, comes as political parties prepare for the anticipated Greater Bengaluru Authority elections, a contest expected to assume considerable importance in the state capital.Reddy said he will not personally hand over his resignation to the chief minister but send it through his personal secretary to the chief minister’s office (CMO).
