THe roach Janta company (CJP) is all go under for a vainglorious resist in Delhi on Saturday. Ahead of the protest and the arrival of the outfit's founder Abhijeet Dipke from the US, the CJP has gained new supporters, with several prominent names among them. The protest has been called to seek education minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, which led to the May 3 exam cancellation and announcement of a re-exam on June 21. Among some prominent names that have come forward to back the CJP recently are climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, actor Prakash Raj and Uddhav Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray. Wangchuk has announced that he will join the June 6 protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar if Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign by June 5. Wangchuk said he is joining the protest because of wider concerns about the condition of education in India and the way education reforms are being implemented. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is a youth-driven social media movement led by Abhijeet Dipke which is demanding Pradhan's resignation over the NEET paper leak controversy. The CJP welcomed Wangchuk's decision and described it as support for its campaign ahead of the June 6 demonstration.Actor Prakash Raj has also extended support to the movement. In a post on X, he said he was trying to reach Delhi on June 6 despite being busy with a film shoot and requested young supporters to attend the protest. Prakash Raj called the campaign the "most relevant Cockroach movement" and said he wanted to show solidarity with the cause.Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray also threw his weight behind the party. "What is their demand? They want Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. Who would oppose that? Where is Nirmala Sitharaman?" Thackeray remarked, highlighting the perceived administrative vacuum and the lack of ministerial accountability amid the deepening NEET-UG and CBSE controversy.Dipke returns to IndiaAhead of the protest, Dipke said he had left the United States and was travelling to India to participate in the June 6 demonstration, according to his social media post. In his message on X, Dipke said he had "left his faith in the hands of the Constitution" as he headed back to India for the protest. The movement had earlier asked supporters to gather at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to welcome Dipke on his arrival from the US.However, on Thursday, CJP urged supporters not to come to the airport, saying the response to the call had become much larger than expected. According to the party, thousands of people had shown interest in joining the airport reception and supporting the demand for Pradhan's resignation.Other CJP supportersBefore these names, Opposition leaders like Trinamool Congress's Mahua Moitra and Kirti Azad also supported the party. Meanwhile, Panipat-based advocate Sudhir Jakhar claims to be the president of the CJP and has decided to back Dipke's protest at Jantar Mantar. The decision to support the protest was taken during a meeting chaired by farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni in Kurukshetra.Charuni praised Dipke's initiative and said the move deserved appreciation. Although Charuni said he would be unable to attend because of a farmer union programme in Haridwar from June 6 to June 8, he added that workers from his organisation would be sent to Jantar Mantar to join the protest.Jakhar said he does not fully agree with Dipke's view that CJP should remain only a pressure group. According to Jakhar, meaningful change requires entering politics and building a political movement rather than functioning only as a pressure group. With support now coming from public figures such as Sonam Wangchuk, Prakash Raj, Sudhir Jakhar and Gurnam Singh Charuni, the CJP protest appears to be gathering wider backing ahead of Dipke's arrival in India and the June 6 demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
