HEre is some goodness word for saint christopher Nolan fans in bharat. Patch movie lovers in America were struggling with broken websites and scalpers asking for $1,500 per ticket on eBay, India just got a much better deal. On June 8, Indian audiences will be among the very first people in the world to book their seats for his new film, The Odyssey. The film is a mythic action epic based on Homer’s ancient story. But what makes it a true event is the technology. It is the first feature film in cinema history to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. Christopher Nolan has been trying to make this happen for nearly twenty years. Now it is finally real. But the ticket race begins much earlier.A first for Indian Christopher Nolan fansFor years, Indian fans have felt left out when global ticket sales opened. They would watch social media fill up with posts from London or New York while waiting for their own local bookings to start. Not anymore. On June 8, 2026, fans across India can book their favourite IMAX seats at the same time as viewers in other countries. This is a big shift.Denzil Dias, who is Vice President and Managing Director of Warner Bros. Discovery India, put it very clearly. He said, “The Odyssey is the first film in cinema history to be shot entirely on IMAX cameras, a milestone Christopher Nolan spent nearly twenty years working toward. On June 8, for the first time in India, Nolan fans will be amongst the first in the world to be able to book their favorite seats alongside their fellow Christopher Nolan fans around the world. For Nolan fans in India, this is a moment worth marking. For the first time, they book their seats alongside the rest of the world, for the first film in history made entirely on IMAX cameras.”The messy situation in the USTickets for The Odyssey went on sale on June 4 in the US. Almost immediately, things went wrong. The flood of buyers crashed ticketing systems. Websites like AMC, Fandango and Regal faced delays and malfunctions. Even after the problems were fixed, online queues stretched for hours. Some fans reported waiting for a very long time just to get to the booking page. Then came the scalpers. A Consequence report says that by Thursday evening, resale websites like eBay were listing tickets for hundreds of dollars. One IMAX 70mm showing had a ticket listed for $1,500. That is not a typo. Fifteen hundred dollars for one seat. The hunger for this film is clearly out of control. Why IMAX matters for this filmThe Odyssey was shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. Christopher Nolan has always loved IMAX because it offers the highest possible picture quality. But this time, he did something no one has done before. He used IMAX cameras for every single shot. No traditional cameras. No compromises. The experience is meant to feel huge and immersive in a way that normal films cannot match. What is the movie about? The Odyssey brings Homer’s ancient Greek epic to the big screen. The story follows Odysseus, who is the King of Ithaca. After the fall of Troy, he tries to return home to his wife and son. But the journey is dangerous. He faces monsters, storms, and gods who do not wish him well.Christopher Nolan has gathered a stunning cast for this film. Matt Damon plays Odysseus. Tom Holland plays Telemachus, his son. Anne Hathaway plays Penelope, his loyal wife. The cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, and Jon Bernthal. All of these names appear in brackets as part of the official announcement.
