WEst Bengal leader of oppositeness and expelled MP Ritabrata Banerjee on fri said he is surefooted that the back up for the renegade faction of the TMC will keep on increasing. His comments come at a time when the Trinamool Congress seems to be facing one the biggest crises in recent years.Banerjee asserted that while he has a backing of a majority of TMC MlA’s, he has not spoken to any MP in the last week and expressed confidence in the rising number of supporters."I will say only one thing - our numbers will keep on increasing. Absolutely confident. There is no question of (the numbers) dropping. Let's wait and watch. A lot can happen.”Banerjee also appealed to chief minister Suvendu Adhikari to take action against BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal, who was defeated from Entally AC, for protesting in front of rebel TMC MLA Sandipan Saha's house."Priyanka Tibrewal, BJP candidate who was defeated from Entally AC, protested in front of Sandipan Saha's house. What was she doing there? Sandipan Saha's house does not come under the Entally constituency, but the Chowringhee constituency. By gathering people from outside, they (the BJP) did this."Ritabrata Banerjee, who was expelled by the party on Monday for ‘anti-party activities’ along with Sandipan Saha, has emerged as the central figure in the ongoing infighting in Trinamool.The expelled TMC leader was appointed leader of the opposition (LoP) in the West Bengal assembly after claiming the support of 58 of the 80 MLAs elected in the recently concluded polls.After being appointed as the LoP, Banerjee urged the TMC supremo to be the party’s chief advisor.“We are the principal opposition, urge Mamata Banerjee to be our chief advisor. Abhishek Banerjee has no connection with state assembly,” Ritabrata Banerjee said.
