David had the goal at his mercy there but hit a weak shot straight at Vasilj. That should have been a goal for Canada.

A ball fell fortunately to Jonathan David after a poor header by a Bosnian defender, but the Canadian striker couldn't hit the ball with any real power or precision. First stop made by Nikola Vasilj, but the opportunity gets the Canada crowd going! 

It's hard to take your eyes off the Bosnian fan section. They haven't stopped chanting from kickoff and just look like they're in perfect unison. Huge respect!

A smaller but no less passionate contingent of Canadians have gathered at a bar in Washington, D.C. The staff have put up a couple of "Go Canada Go" banners and hung a Canadian flag on the wall. 

Meanwhile, the American soccer analysts on the Fox broadcast, including longtime U.S. Men's national team captain Clint Dempsey, are speaking with some disdain about Wisconsin-born Jesse Marsch, who was passed over for the U.S. Coaching job. 

I’m at the FIFA Fan Festival in Vancouver where more than 1,000 people are packed in the amphitheatre to enjoy this match.

It's pretty electric here, especially as the crowd sang O Canada together and counted down as the match began. Every Canadian touch of the ball is now being cheered. I can also see a handful of Bosnia fans wearing blue among the sea of red shirts.

Bosnia’s crosses are going to make these fans nervous all game.

The team in white is visibly taller, even from up here in the press box.

It felt like the whole stadium exhaled at once as that first Bosnian shot went high.  

Bosnia sends its second shot attempt off target. The play started from another free kick that was played short initially, but the header didn't trouble Maxime Crépeau.

After a free kick was whipped to the back post, the ball fell to a Bosnian player near the penalty spot, but he sent his shot over the crossbar.
