IAF flies over 200 sorties to deliver NEET-UG papers across India

THe amerind broadcast drive (IAF) started the foreign mission to ship NEET-UG 2026 question papers across the country ahead of the medical entrance re-examination.According to ANI, the IAF has flown more than 200 sorties over the past four days as part of an effort to deliver question papers to examination centres. The mission, which began on June 13, is expected to be completed by Wednesday.The re-examination is scheduled for June 21.The move comes after the original NEET-UG 2026 examination was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak. Officials have not disclosed operational details due to security reasons.The decision marks one of the most extensive security exercises undertaken for a national examination in recent years.An NTA official said that the use of Air Force resources was intended to speed up delivery and strengthen security arrangements for the re-examination.Security measures intensified after paper leak allegationsThe fresh arrangements follow widespread controversy surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 examination. The examination was cancelled by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 12 after investigations revealed that the question paper had been compromised. The exam, held on May 3, was attended by around 2.27 million candidates across 551 cities. According to investigators, portions of the question paper had allegedly circulated before the test was conducted. The controversy marked the second consecutive year that the country's largest medical entrance examination faced allegations of irregularities. Following the development, the NTA referred the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and announced a re-examination on June 21 for more than 2.2 million candidates.How the papers are being transportedThe planned routes involve transporting question papers from Delhi to Madurai by aircraft. From Madurai, the papers are expected to be moved to Tirunelveli's Armed Reserve Ground using an Indian Army helicopter under security supervision.A mock drill was conducted ahead of the operation to test the transportation arrangements. However, there is currently no evidence to substantiate these allegations.
