Luke Wileman on the TSN broadcast just said Koné's leg has been stabilized and he's on the way to the hospital.

Good news to hear. Wishing the Canadian midfielder a speedy recovery.

In the immortal words of Bob Cole, "Everything is happening!" This game is drunk on drama. And right on cue the B.C. Place faithful break into a massive wave.

Saliba scores a fantastic free kick that kisses the post and goes in. But bigger than the goal itself, Saliba celebrates by making an "8" with his hands and holding up Koné's jersey!

It's a big goal, which, at the moment, puts Canada top of Group B.

Ugh. That did look a lot like a broken left leg for Koné. The raucous crowd fell silent as the midfielder was treated on the field.

Canadian goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau saw what happened and immediately sprinted from his net to Koné's side to try and block the cameras from seeing the extent of the injury.

Akram Afif has now made way for Al-Hashmi Al-Hussain. It's another purely defensive change for the visitors, who are now playing with nine men.

In the midst of the chaos, Madibo is shown a red card having initially been given a yellow. He still looks incredibly shaken after his challenge on Koné.

Koné is sitting up and waving to the fans while getting stretchered off of the pitch. The Canadian players then gather on the halfway line in a huddle.

That's very likely Koné's World Cup over. Nathan Saliba has been subbed on in his place.

Oh my God, this is sickening. Canadian midfielder Ismaël Koné appears to have suffered a very serious injury.

Players are holding their heads in their hands. Assim Madibo, who made the challenge, looks incredibly distraught. There are several shouts from players about Koné's leg being broken.

A horrible scene in Vancouver.

Qatar also made two substitutions at the break. Midfielders Ahmed Fathi and Mohamed Manai are in for Jassem Gaber and attacker Edmilson Junior.

The visitors only have two more substitutions left, while Canada has four.

A pleasant sight for Canadian eyes to start the second half, as Moïse Bombito slots in for the yellow-carded Derek Cornelius.

Bombito has been recovering from a broken leg since Oct. 5. He started against Uzbekistan on June 1, but he clearly hadn't fully recovered from his injury and was subbed off 32 minutes in.

Hopefully, with Canada up by three goals and a player, he can ease into fitness here.

Nervous excitement has morphed into disbelief and unbridled joy.

Are there enough superlatives to describe Team Canada’s performance so far? Players have risen to the occasion, and then some. Plus, the more Canada scores the better, should the final standings in Group B come down to a tiebreaker.
