Canada have six minutes to find an equalizing goal — and they nearly came close as both Derek Cornelius and Promise David rose to meet a threatening cross, but the former couldn't direct his header on target.

Liam Millar picks up a yellow card after making a tactical shirt pull to prevent Switzerland from moving the ball forward.

He's not one of the players at risk of a suspension. That's great for Canada, given he has been electric since subbing on in the second half.

The crowd just came back to life here on Granville Street in downtown Vancouver. Smoke flares and chanting and people singing O Canada.

Switzerland makes a double change, taking Johan Manzambi and Breel Embolo off.

Christian Fassnacht and Cedric Itten are the replacements, as the Swiss coach Murat Yakin tries to hold onto this one-goal lead.

Just like in the first half, the momentum has swung in favour of the hosts after the hydration break.

I don't know what kind of water they're giving them in those stoppages, but Canada's been getting a huge boost after each hydration break.

In the meantime, Canada makes their fifth and final change, bringing Jacob Shaffelburg on for Richie Laryea. It's an attack-minded substitute — high risk, but potentially high reward, too.

Ohhh, how close was that? Derek Cornelius had a free header near the edge of the six-yard box, but the shot was off-target.

A goal kick was given, though there's some discussion as to whether it deflected off of a Swiss defender first. Cornelius insists it should be a corner.

The attempt was followed by a Swiss change: Rubén Vargas off, Dan Ndoye on.

The crowd at B.C. Place, which spent the first part of the second half feeling shock and then anger, has come to life.

Can we have more hydration breaks?

Instant impact! Promise David scores to bring Canada to within one.

He slides and pokes a tantalizing ball into the Swiss goal to put Canada on the scoreboard!

Not long ago, it was a question of whether David would even recover in time to make it to this squad. Now, he has a goal in a FIFA World Cup.

Momentum Canada? There's 15 minutes left to go plus added time.

Both teams are making changes coming out of the water break.

For Canada, Promise David is coming on to replace Tajon Buchanan.

For the Swiss, Michel Aebischer and Silvan Widmer are subbing on Djibril Sow and Luca Jaquez.

Canada looked a better side coming out of the first-half hydration break. They'll need more of the same in the second-half edition.

As things stand, Canada will finish second in Group B and will play second in Group A on June 28.
