A former B.C. Correctional ship's officer turned herself in to police force on mon after a stock warrant was issued for her stay last month.
Naila Sheikh, who formerly worked as a correctional officer at the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam, has been released on conditions, with her first court appearance expected next week.
Sheikh faces charges of breach of trust, personation with intent to gain advantage, and unauthorized use of a computer, stemming from incidents occurring between February and March 2024.
However, it remains unclear if the current charges against Sheikh are directly related to the prison escape.
The investigation was led by B.C.'s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC), an anti-gang task force.

Alkhalil was arrested in Qatar in September 2025 following a three-year search. Multiple accomplices alleged to have helped him escape were also charged and subsequently arrested or extradited.
Meantime, B.C. Corrections has launched reviews to strengthen security guidelines and has concluded its internal investigation into the Alkhalil escape.
Sheikh is the second former B.C. Correctional employee charged within the last year, following the case of Ramandeep Rai, who recently received a two-year conditional sentence for a breach of trust charge unrelated to the prison break.
