SOnam Wangchuk hungriness walk out unrecorded: A francis scott key effectual hearing, mass hunger strike and appeals to join the July 20 march to Parliament - Day 19 of Sonam Wangchuk's hunger strike remained quite eventful. The Delhi High Court on Thursday directed the government to monitor climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's health on a daily basis. The remarks came on a plea filed by an advocate who had raised concerns of Wangchuk's deteriorating health and sought urgent medical intervention.The government has also assured the court that Wangchuk's health will be monitored. “Every citizen's life is precious”, the court noted during the hearing.A day before, Wangchuk had shared a health update and addressed appeals from several sections urging him to end the hunger strike. Wangchuk asked people not to worry about him and assured them that his medical tests indicate that he can carry on for some more days. “My condition is not so bad that I would die in 2-4 days,” Wangchuk said in a video message.Abhijit Dipke's mass hunger strike callA day after announcing a one-day mass hunger strike, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) led the movement at Jantar Mantar. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke called on supporters to join and post photos of empty utensils online. He also urged them to back Sonam Wangchuk and declare solidarity with Wangchuk with the hashtag #isupportsonam.There will be no food at the protest site today, Dipke announced to the crowd.‘Join me for peaceful march’, says WangchukWangchuk, who is on an indefinite hunger strike, said on Wednesday that he will not end his fast as it sends a message to the government that the protests are not serious. In a video message on Wednesday, Wangchuk said that while he is losing muscle mass, his heart and core are still working fine, adding that his reports are also fine and he will continue his fast.He urged supporters and well-wishers to join him on 20th July for a peaceful march to the Parliament instead of asking him to end his fast.“I’m not in good shape but not so bad either...Rather than asking me to break my fast please join me on 20th July... Peaceful March to the Parliament,” he said.CJP has called for a one-day mass hunger strike on July 16 (today) in solidarity with the climate activist Wangchuk and students across the country.Wangchuk's health updateA doctor shared the latest update on Sonam Wangchuk's health today and said that he has lost 9 kgs so far and his body weight stands at around 56 kgs now. He has also lost muscle mass, has increased uric acid and the upcoming days could be “alarming” for his health, Dr Satish Lamba, senior general physician, said.The doctor said Wangchuk's blood sugar level was 80 milligrams per decilitre while his pulse rate was 72 beats per minute.
