Mookie Betts came to the plate with Ohtani on base and no one out. He hit a fly ball, which was caught by a running Addison Barger.

Freddie Freeman, a dual Canadian-American citizen, was up next for the Dodgers. He hit a pop up, which Ernie Clement caught to give Scherzer a second out in the bottom of the first.

The first batter Scherzer saw was Dodgers superstar Ohtani, who promptly hit a double off the Jays starter.

The key for the Blue Jays, as it has been throughout the series, is to get into the Dodgers’ bullpen as early as possible.

Allowing Glasnow to throw just eight pitches in the first inning hurts that cause.

Glasnow struck out Springer to start off the first.

That brought Nathan Lukes to the plate. He hit an outfield fly ball to give Glasnow another out.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Was up next. He hit a fly ball that was caught by Dodgers right fielder Teoscar Hernández, which ended the inning with no runs on the board for Toronto.

Springer is first up to bat. The Blue Jays’ lead-off man won World Series MVP as a member of the Houston Astros in 2017.

Those Astros, of course, were found to have cheated their way to the title, banging on trash cans outside of the clubhouse to signal pitches to their hitters.

The team those Astros beat in the final? You know it — the Dodgers.

Springer was booed during introductions in a trend and on his way to the plate. That will surely continue throughout the next three games.

Game 3 of the World Series is underway at Dodger Stadium.

The game starts with Glasnow pitching for the Dodgers in the top of the first because the game is taking place in L.A. That means the Dodgers will bat in the bottom of each inning.

The Dodgers played Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us (the rapper’s infamous Drake diss track) as their walk-in song, perhaps throwing some not-so-subtle shade at Toronto.

As for the anthems, Country music star Brad Paisley will sing the Star-Spangled Banner tonight, as five North American AT-6 planes fly over the stadium.

Following that, Toronto-born, Grammy-nominated singer JP Saxe will perform the Canadian national anthem.

Former Dodgers starter Hideo Nomo will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium tonight.

Nomo is widely credited for opening the door for other Japanese players to migrate to Major League baseball after signing with the Dodgers in the mid-90s.
