Nine outs to go, one-run lead. Who will Schneider call out of the bullpen?

He has said Trey Yesavage could be available. We haven’t seen Shane Bieber. Seranthony Dominguez is a coin-toss — he can be dominant, but he can also struggle badly with command.

Closer Jeff Hoffman is likely ticketed for the ninth.

And there’s at least one more Ohtani at-bat to get through.

These are the decisions that could win or lose a World Series.

Bassitt issued a leadoff walk to Mookie Betts and Max Muncy followed that with a base hit to put two on with nobody out.

Bassitt got Teoscar Hernández to ground one to the mound and threw out the runner at second.

Edman’s sacrifice fly scored Betts.

Kike Hernández slapped one through the right side of the infield to extend the inning.

But Bassitt, the starter turned reliever, got Miguel Rojas to softly ground out to end the inning.

The converted starter has been dominant out of the ‘pen until tonight, when he struggled to miss bats and allowed the Dodgers to get within one.

He had quickly turned into one of manager John Schneider’s most trusted arms, and the plan may have been for him to go more than one inning.

Instead, that’s likely all for his night.

And the Dodgers have clawed back to make this a 3-2 ballgame.

Chris Bassitt, who has been dominant in this series, is coming into the game for the Jays.

The momentum from Bichette’s home run and the benches-clearing fracas seems to have worn off, both for the players and the crowd.

Now, as we head to the sixth inning, this is a two-run ball game, and the Jays are still 12 outs from hoisting the Commissioner’s Trophy.

The bullpen has been good, but a few extra runs would sure make the relievers feel a lot better about attacking Dodgers batters.

Max Muncy made a leaping grab to take a hit away from Bichette to open the inning.

Barger broke his bat on a foul ball before striking out.

Kirk then reached out and flared a base hit into centre field to keep the inning alive.

Varsho grounded out to second.

Blue Jays legend José Bautista, seated in the crowd, just took the mic and fired up the crowd in the middle of the fifth.

A couple of rows behind him, fellow legend Edwin Encarnación put up his famous home-run parrot that he would take around the bases with him.

Both men have hit massive home runs for this franchise — and they witnessed another in Bichette’s earlier tonight.

Scherzer was back out to begin the inning and got Enrique Hernández to strike out on a swing he couldn’t check.

But then trouble. Rojas drilled a single into left, bringing up Ohtani and knocking Scherzer out of the game. Ohtani singled, putting two on with just one out.

But Louis Varland came in gunning and got Smith and Freeman to fly out.

The reliever has been entrusted throughout these playoffs to enter in the middle of innings when the previous pitcher had left a jam.

He’s been mostly dominant in those outings — and again here, he got the Dodgers’ No. 2 and 3 hitter to fly out, dousing and blanketing the threat before it burst into flames.
