Then, he stole second, seemingly catching the Dodgers by surprise and advancing without a throw.

A pitch later, Giménez launched an RBI double to right-centre, restoring the Blue Jays’ two-run lead.

Earlier, Clement broke a team record by hitting safely in a 13th straight post-season game.

Clement, who had just stolen second, scores easily.

It’s 4-2 for the Jays.

He has said Trey Yesavage could be available. We haven’t seen Shane Bieber. Seranthony Dominguez is a coin-toss — he can be dominant, but he can also struggle badly with command.

Closer Jeff Hoffman is likely ticketed for the ninth.

Bassitt issued a leadoff walk to Mookie Betts and Max Muncy followed that with a base hit to put two on with nobody out.

Bassitt got Teoscar Hernández to ground one to the mound and threw out the runner at second.

Edman’s sacrifice fly scored Betts.

Kike Hernández slapped one through the right side of the infield to extend the inning.

But Bassitt, the starter turned reliever, got Miguel Rojas to softly ground out to end the inning.
