In the wake of the order, the United States Department of Agriculture announced Monday that it will use the $4.65 billion to fund SNAP for November.
According to a legal filing in response to the judges' order, the money will be just about enough to fund roughly half of the currently enrolled participants on SNAP. Additionally, the USDA said that those who applied for SNAP in November will not be eligible for payments this month.
Yes, SNAP benefits, which paused last week as the USDA ran out of funds for he programs amid the government shutdown, will resume. However, there are multiple catches, as per the USDA's latest announcement.
The first is regarding who will receive the benefits. As per the USDA, the money allotted for November 2025 SNAP payments is only enough to cover for the benefits to around half of the enrolled applicants. It means, either everyone enrolled will not receive the benefits, or the amount will be less compared to the previous months to accommodate all the applicants

Additionally, the USDA said that benefits will not paid to those who have applied to be enrolled in the program in November 2025.
In the legal filing by the Trump administration in response to the Rhode Island Judge's order, a timeline of when funds will be disbursed was not specified. Usually, SNAP benefits are credited on the first of every month, and so, beneficiaries can expect the balance to be credited soon.
