DElhi blare unrecorded updates: Amid the intensifying poke into in the new delhi blare case, the Delhi police has sounded an alert across all police stations, posts, and border checkpoints in the national capital to trace a red Ford EcoSport car suspected to be linked to the explosion, PTI reported quoting sources. An investigation has revealed that other suspects, already connected to the Hyundai i20 used in the explosion, were also in possession of another red-coloured car, the police source said. At least five teams of Delhi Police have been deployed to locate the vehicle, while neighbouring UP and Haryana Police have also been alerted to maintain heightened vigilance and assist in the search.Probe into the deadly explosion near Red Fort that left 10 dead has revealed several significant details, including the identification of the driver who was driving the Hyundai i20 car.Identified as Umar un-Nabi, the suspect was doctor from Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama and was allegedly linked to the terror module that was busted in Faridabad a day before. Officials privy with the probe told HT that Umar drove into Delhi with a detonator and explosive material in the car. Besides, an FSL team collected Umar's mother's samples and sent it for a detailed investigation.The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formally taken over the case, and formed a probe team after clues reportedly pointed to a terror plot.Latest updates in the case:PM Modi meets Delhi blast victims at LNJP HospitalPrime Minister Narendra Modi met the victims of the Delhi blast who are undergoing treatment at the LNJP Hospital shortly after arriving in Delhi. After meeting the victims, PM Modi said that those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice. The prime minister arrived in New Delhi earlier today after concluding a visit to Bhutan.Hyundai driver's identity confirmed, mother's DNA collected: An officer told HT that the man who was driving the car before the deadly explosion was a Pulwama-based doctor, Umar un-Nabi. The DNA samples of Umar's mother, who was called to Delhi from Pulwama for questioning, has also been collected. Police earlier discovered a link between the Red Fort blast and the terror module that was busted in Faridabad a day before, and is further probing what may have caused the explosion.Faridabad university reacts: Al Falah University, the institute that had come under scanner after massive raids in Faridabad before the Red Fort blast, has denied all allegations against it. Umar un-Nabi, the Hyundai driver, worked as an assistant professor here. “We strongly condemn and categorically deny all such false and defamatory allegations. No such chemical or material, as alleged by certain platforms, is being used, stored, or handled within the University premises," the university's VC professor said days after the raids led to seven arrests, including that of two doctors.Terror module case accused recced Red Fort: Muzammil Ganaie, one of those arrested in connection with a probe into the Faridabad terror module and who later became a key figure in the Red Fort blast case, reportedly recced the area around the monument in January multiple times. As per a PTI report, cops made this discovery while going through Muzammil's mobile dump data. The doctor also worked with Umar at Faridabad's Al-Falah University.Delhi on high alert, random checks: The national capital remains on high alert two days after the powerful explosion near Red Fort. Security checks are being carried out at interstate borders of Delhi, including Ghazipur, Singhu, Tikri, and Badarpur, and senior officials are personally monitoring the inspection. Checks are also being carried out randomly at markets, metro stations, railway terminals and bus stands to keep a check on suspicious movements. Besides, sniffer dogs, metal detectors and anti-sabotage teams are pressed into service at sensitive locations and people have been asked to stay vigilant.Cause behind the blast: Investigators are yet to uncover what exactly led to the explosion in Delhi that left 10 people dead. It was earlier reported that cops were trying to determine whether the explosion originated from a “cylinder-type device” inside the car. Amid the ongoing probe, an officer told HT that the bomb used in the explosion was “premature” and hence the impact was limited. The suspect allegedly feared that cops would narrow down on him after his associates were arrested in the Faridabad raids.
