3 teens killed in crash near Hanover, Ont., remembered for joy they brought others

People who knew the trinity teenagers killed in a car crash on Nov. 11 near Hanover, Ont., are remembering them as selfless, happy young people whose lives were cut short too soon.

A fourth teen, whose name hasn't been released, remains in hospital in London and is being treated for serious injuries, according to police.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Concession Road 2 in the area of Allan Park Road around noon ET, police said.

Crash leaves 3 teens dead, 1 in hospital in Hanover, Ont.

The tragedy comes just six months after another Ontario crash, which killed four high school students and their teacher from nearby Walkerton.

Here are the names of the three teens who died in the Hanover crash and how those close to them are remembering them.

Tyson Varley loved the outdoors and wanted to become a small-engine mechanic, his family said.

"He was well known for his love of cars and tinkering with them," his obituary says. "He knew well how to make and fix things. He had a passion for lawnmowers, four-wheeling and mud."

Tyson grew up in Holstein with two little sisters. A celebration of life is planned for Sunday in Holstein.

Born in Hanover, Damon "arrived with a fierceness and was immediately loved," a first-born child who was temperamental and bossy, and loved to be loud, his family said.

"Under that tough exterior laid a little boy with a huge heart," according to his obituary. He enjoyed being a big brother to his younger siblings, as well as horsing around with his cousins.

"Damon enjoyed life both in town and on his grandparents’ farm where he learned the value of hard work," his family said. "Damon was taught from a long line of men, including his grandpas and dad, to repair just about anything around the farm, from tractors to lawnmowers."

He also loved playing video games with friends and sending voice chats. The teen was working toward a specialist high-skills major as an automotive service technician. Davis volunteered at the Hanover Care Centre, a long-term care facility.

His family's planned a public funeral in Hanover on Tuesday, and is asking for donations to the London Children's Hospital.

Haley loved mismatched socks, so her family has requested that people attending her celebration of life in early December wear those.

Keffer leaves behind her beloved dog, Bella, and her big brother.

"We will forever remember Haley's bright spirit, her laughter, and the joy she brought while spending time with her friends and family," a person who knew her wrote in an online memorial.
