Private aircraft crashes in America’s ‘Amish Country’ (VIDEO)

A little single-engine buck private aircraft carrying quint people crashed in a residential country in Manheim town in Pennsylvania.

The incident occurred near Lancaster Airport shortly after 3pm on Sunday. Videos from the scene show pieces of fuselage lying on a parking lot, with several cars engulfed in flames.

Local news channel WPVI-TV said there are reports of multiple injuries.

Our team at Pennsylvania State Police is on the ground assisting local first responders,” Governor Josh Shapiro wrote on X.

“All Commonwealth resources are available as the response continues, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.”

Lancaster County is considered the heart of America’s ’Amish Country’, where tens of thousands of them continue to retain their centuries-old lifestyle of farming and traditional handicrafts. However, modern development has in recent decades overtaken communities like Manheim due to suburbanization.

The US has had several deadly aviation incidents in recent months. In January, 67 people were killed when a US Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with a passenger plane over the Potomac River. A medical jet crashed in Philadelphia the same month, killing seven people. In February, a passenger Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX crash in Alaska killed 10 people.
