Miami players gather around Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, who just played the final game of their illustrious careers.

The win marks Inter Miami’s first MLS title. The team looked to bounce back from its playoff disappointment of last season, which saw them lose in the first round to Atlanta FC.

Speaking to Apple TV, team co-owner David Beckham gave credit to the Whitecaps, saying they “put us under a lot of pressure.”

“They were on top of us a little bit,” Beckham said.

But he credited Inter Miami for sticking together in the face of pressure.

“They’ve done that all year.”

There are a lot of solemn faces as fans file out of the stadium in Vancouver.

Chris Wright, who lives in the city, tells me he believes this is just the start of something new for the Whitecaps, and thinks the team will win the cup next year.

“They played a good game. Sometimes it’s just a matter of luck in football,” he said.

The energy inside was electric throughout the back and forth match. But the result ultimately left the crowd of Whitecaps supporters heartbroken.

Still, one thing we heard from fans throughout our time here in Florida is that they're proud of the team's success this season.

I'll be hitting the streets to chat with fans directly in the aftermath of tonight's matchup.

A roar echoed through Fort Lauderdale after Miami sealed their win with that third goal. Moments later, the win was official and fireworks exploded over the arena.

The crowd, on its feet, waved pink flags that were placed in arena seats ahead of the game.

The Southsiders remain seated after the referee blew the whistle for full time, though they were still cheering for their team.

Inter Miami have won the 2025 MLS Cup. A goal by De Paul in the 71st minute, set up by fellow Argentine Messi, proved to be the difference as Miami wins its first MLS title.

The Vancouver Whitecaps gave Inter Miami everything they had, dominating possession — 59 per cent to 41 per cent — and taking it to the Herons for long stretches of play.

But Miami, as they have done all season, made their opponents pay for their mistakes.

In this case, it was an Ocampo own goal after Allende broke through the defence and De Paul scoring in the second half after a turnover by Andrés Cubas.

It was Tadeo Allende who put Miami up 3-1 before the final whistle.

You could cut the tension with a knife inside B.C. Place.

The game has opened up again since Miami's second goal, with the home team playing with more belief.

Things are also getting scrappy: Tackles are flying and so are the yellow cards.

Cubas and Laborda have been booked for the Whitecaps, while Miami's De Paul also got a caution.

The clock is ticking down on the Whitecaps' hopes. Can they find a second equalizer?

Yannick Bright, a defensive-minded midfielder, comes into the game to replace Miami’s Mateo Silvetti as the Herons look toward the finish line.

A Miami goal once again brings the vast majority of the crowd to their feet as the momentum of the game changes again.

The beat coming from the drum line, led by Miami's supporters in the north section of Chase Stadium, increases in speed. The crowd claps and stomps along with it.

The Southsiders section appears stunned.

Cubas will not want to relive that moment. He lost control of the ball and Messi stole it before releasing a perfect pass for de Paul, who made no mistake with the finish.

The 'Caps will be smarting from that goal, having dominated the second half.
