PArliament overwinter session unrecorded updates: In the indorse hebdomad of the overwinter session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off the debate on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. The debate comes amid a political row after the PM accused the Congress of removing certain lines from the song in 1937, which he adds, “sowed the seeds of the partition”.Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the prime minister hit out at Congress and targeted Nehru for omitting lines from the national song, which he claims triggered the partition of India. The PM further criticised the Congress rule and recalled the emergency rule during the 100th anniversary of Vande Mataram.Meanwhile, in the Rajya Sabha, the mass cancellation of IndiGo flights was raised. Civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that the airline did not raise any issue or problem with the government during a meeting earlier this month. The union minister further blamed IndiGo's ‘internal system and planning’ for the mass disruption which has led to the cancellation of over 4,500 flights since last week Tuesday .Parliament winter session | Key updatesOpening the debate on Vande Matram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lamented that the Constitution was "throttled" and the nation chained by the Emergency when national song Vande Mataram completed 100 years. He said the song remained a steadfast symbol of resistance and unity during British rule.On the PM's accusations, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh hit back and said that the decision to remove lines from Vande Mataram was a decision of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) that included leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Rajendra Prasad, and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, among others."The Prime Minister has insulted this CWC as well as Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. That he should have done so is shocking but not surprising since the RSS had played no role in our Freedom Movement led by Mahatma Gandhi," Ramesh posted on X.After the Lok Sabha debate, the Vande Mataram discussion is set to take place in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Union home minister Amit Shah is expected to initiate the debate in the upper house.Apart from the discussion on Vande Mataram, several ministers such as Gajendra Singh Shekhawat (Ministry of Culture), Jayant Chaudhary (Ministry of Education), Pankaj Chaudhary (Ministry of Finance), Sushri Shobha Karandlaje (Ministry of Labour and Employment), Kirti Vardhan Singh (Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change), and Harsh Malhotra (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) will lay papers on the table.
