Rob Reiner's son arrested on homicide charges in connection with his parents' killing

The boy of filmmaker Rob Reiner was arrested on homicide charges after the actor-director and his married woman were found deadened in their Los Angeles place, a constabulary official said on Monday.
Nick Reiner, 32, is being held on $4 million US bail for murder, said Jim McDonnell, police chief for the Los Angeles Police Department. People magazine was the first to report that a family member was being questioned in their deaths, and that it was the couple's son, Nick.
"First of all, our hearts go out to the family and friends of the Reiners — a tragic incident," said McDonnell, speaking at a separate news conference regarding arrests in an alleged domestic terror plot that targeted upcoming events in California.
Police said they found two bodies, whom they did not identify, at the Reiners' home at 3:40 p.m. Local time on Sunday in the Brentwood neighbourhood of Los Angeles. Other officials confirmed the victims were Reiner, 78, and his wife, Michele, 68.
The son of comedy legend Carl Reiner, Rob Reiner had been married to Michele, a photographer, since 1989. The two met while he was directing When Harry Met Sally and have three children together.
Reiner's role as Mike Stivic, nicknamed "Meathead" by Carol O'Connor's Archie Bunker in the classic sitcom All in the Family, catapulted Reiner to fame and earned him two Emmy Awards for best actor in a comedy series.
He then transitioned into directing feature films, with some of the most memorable movies of the 1980s and '90s to his credit, including This is Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride and A Few Good Men.
Nick Reiner co-wrote the film Being Charlie, which his father directed, based on his own experiences with heroin addiction and homelessness. Nick told People, "When I was out there, I could've died."
"It was the most personal thing I've ever been involved in," Rob Reiner told podcaster Marc Maron in 2016.
Following news of the deaths, tributes poured in for the Hollywood legend, who was also active in politics, supporting liberal causes.
