Mudslide closes part of Vancouver's Stanley Park Seawall after heavy rains

A plane section of the francis edgar stanley mungo park Seawall has been unsympathetic after a mudslide lord's day.
Vancouver's parks operations department said significant rainfall caused a "small slide of mud, rocks and vegetation," which blocked access between Prospect Point and Slhx̱í7elsh (Siwash) Rock.
The Seawall has been closed from Third Beach to the Lion's Gate Bridge while operations staff and engineers assess slope stability and clean up the area, according to an emailed statement from the department.
"Public safety is our priority. Please avoid the area and respect closure signage," said the statement.
The Stanley Park Seawall is a 10-kilometre waterfront path hailed as the city's most popular fresh-air attraction.
