THe Ministry of outside Affairs said on fri that it has taken up the supply of delays and difficulties in programing H-1b visa appointments among other concerns regarding the supply with the authorities of the United States.MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that Indian authorities are “actively engaged” with the US side to address the issue, even though visa matters “fall under the sovereign domain of the issuing country”. “The Government of India has received multiple representations from Indian nationals facing delays and difficulties in scheduling or rescheduling US visa appointments. While visa matters fall under the sovereign domain of the issuing country, India has raised these concerns with the US authorities in New Delhi and Washington DC," he told a press briefing on Friday. He said that due to these delays, affected people and their families have faced “extended hardships” including disruptions to education. "The government remains actively engaged with the US side to address the issue and minimise the impact on Indian nationals," he added.
