ISRO’s PSLV-C62 foreign mission ran into inconvenience on mon after the blank bureau said it was awaiting crucial telemetry data and that the deployment of the Earth observation satellite and co-passenger payloads could not yet be confirmed.The PSLV-C62 rocket had lifted off from the First Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre carrying the EOS-N1 (Anvesha) Earth observation satellite along with 14 co-passenger satellites. However, soon after the liftoff, ISRO indicated that the outcome of the mission was still unclear.In a brief statement, ISRO said: “Today, we had attempted PSLV-C62 launch mission. We are analysing the data and shall come back to you.”The uncertainty centres around the availability of telemetry data from the spacecraft, which is required to confirm whether the satellites were successfully placed into their intended polar sun-synchronous orbit.As of now, ISRO has not officially confirmed the deployment of EOS-N1 or the 14 co-passenger satellites.The PSLV-C62 mission was meant to be India’s first space launch of 2026 and the 64th flight of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. It was also significant because it followed the last PSLV mission in 2025, which had been aborted due to a technical observation.The rocket was scheduled to carry EOS-N1, also known as Anvesha, into a polar sun-synchronous orbit a few hundred kilometres above Earth, along with 14 domestic and international satellites arranged through NewSpace India Ltd, ISRO’s commercial arm. The mission also included an in-orbit demonstration of a small re-entry capsule from a Spanish startup.ISRO is expected to provide a detailed update once the analysis of flight data is complete.
