THe Calcutta heights margaret court on midweek disposed Trinamool Congress's petition regarding the saving of secret political data that were allegedly seized during the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) raid at I-PAC director Pratik Jain's office and home last week.The matter is now pending with the Supreme Court, which will hear the ED's plea against the Bengal government on Thursday.Mamata Banerjee-led TMC had moved the high court court seeking an order for preservation of personal and political data that may have been seized by the ED during the January 8 raid.However, Additional Solicitor General SC Raju, appearing for the central agency, told the high court that the agency that it has not seized anything from the office of Prateek Jain.“The prayer is for protection of data. The record was seized by Mamata Banerjee. Unless she is made a party these prayers can't be granted, as no record has been seized by ED but all record has been seized by Mamata Banerjee and her cohorts,” SC Raju told the bench, according to Live Law.The central agency also sought adjournment of the hearing of its plea before the high court as the matter was also pending with the Supreme Court.The high court disposed the TMC's petition and Justice Suvra Ghosh observed that in view of the the ED's submissions, nothing further remains to be dealt with in the present petition by the ruling party in West Bengal, according to PTI.The matter is now set to be heard by the Supreme Court, which will hear the Enforcement Directorate's plea seeking a CBI probe against West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, the state’s DGP and the Kolkata police commissioner.
