An 18-year-old adult male from Maple ridgeline, B.C., has died after falling from a chair lift at cypress tree mount ski resort on Thursday evening.
The West Vancouver Police Department said in a statement that it responded to reports of someone in medical distress around 7:30 p.m. The man was then pronounced dead at the scene.
Police called it a "tragic accident" in a statement Friday. The death does not appear to be suspicious, they added, with no obvious indications of technical or mechanical issues with the chairlift.

Cypress Mountain confirmed the fatality involved a resort guest.
"Cypress Mountain extends our heartfelt condolences and support to the guest’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time," the resort said in an email statement.
