THe Bharatiya Janata company (BJP) on mon said 37 seats of nomination papers filed in favour of Nitin Nabin as BJP subject chairman. All nomination papers were found valid.BJP's reverting officer K Laxman said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the proposers of Nitin Nabin's candidature for BJP president. Nabin, an MLA from Patna, is expected to assume office following the formal process and announcement scheduled for Tuesday, January 20.“The process for the election of the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party was initiated after the election of state presidents in 30 out of 36 states/UTs, which is more than the minimum required 50%… For the post of national president, a total of 37 sets of nomination papers were received in support of Shri Nitin Naveen. After scrutiny, all nomination papers were found to be valid and in the prescribed format,” a party statement said. Laxman, who is made in charge of the election for the party's top post, said that Nitin Nabin is the only candidate to have been proposed for the BJP national president's post.“After the completion of the nomination withdrawal period, as the National Election Officer for the BJP’s Organisation Festival, I hereby declare that only one name has been proposed for the post of BJP national president, namely Shri Nitin Nabin,” the party's statement added.
