The Grammy for best new artist has been awarded to Olivia Dean.

The nominees were:

Bringing pop and disco energy to the showcase finale, sombr spun and swayed while singing his hit 12 to 12 in a silver suit that glittered like a disco ball.

He marched through the crowd, dancing past Jennifer Hudson and Queen Latifah while sparkling under the lights.

Lola Young was next up, performing a stripped down piano version of her track Messy — a song about balancing the desire to be perfect with the realities of life. 

That was followed by Olivia Dean belting out her jazz-pop song Man I Need with a smile. 

Leon Thomas moves into a slick version of Mutt, seamlessly performing the smooth R&B track.

Alex Warren then belted out his hit Ordinary, complete with a choir behind him as he was lifted into the air via a platform.

Katseye was up next in the medley, with their hit song Gnarly.

Notably, they swapped the lyric "Tesla" in the song with "robotics."

Wearing a sparkly purple bra and skirt set, Addison Rae is the next best new artist up, making her Grammys debut with a sultry performance of Fame Is a Gun.

Complete with a number of background dancers, Rae showed off her dance moves as she twirled and spun.

Indie pop group The Marías kicked off the new artist showcase. 

One of eight nominees for the first of tonight’s “big four” categories (also including best record, album and song), the group performed their track No One Noticed. They performed an extended version of the track which, typical of their music, mixed both English and Spanish lyrics.

Shortly after the show began, Grammys host Trevor Noah managed to bring up the beef that simply won’t die.

Walking over to Kendrick Lamar, he noted the hip-hop artist is one of the most nominated artists at the awards this year. Noah then made a reference to the infamous feud between Lamar and Canada's Drake. 

The two traded diss-tracks throughout 2024, culminating in a perceived evisceration of Drake. Lamar then brought out a cavalcade of stars at the Super Bowl to sing and dance along to his Not Like Us track, which features numerous jabs at the Canadian star — including the particularly infamous line: "Trynna strike a chord / and it's probably A minor."

"I actually thought about writing a few jokes roasting you," Noah said while standing next to a smiling Lamar. "But then I remembered what you can do to light-skinned dudes from other countries."

Queen Latifah and Doechii presented Lamar with the Grammy for best rap album.

Lamar walked to the stage as his Grammy-winning track tv off played.

"I'm not good at talking about myself but I express myself through the music," Lamar said.

He shouted out his fellow nominees and God, then ended his speech saying "love y'all."

The best rap album is awarded to Kendrick Lamar for GNX.
