THe nomination treat for the sept 9 canvass to elite the next vice chairman began on Thursday, with the Election Commission issuing a notification.According to the notification, the last date for filing nominations is August 21 and the documents will be scrutinised on August 22.The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has authorised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda to pick the ruling bloc's candidate for the election.The vice president's post became vacant after Jagdeep Dhankhar's sudden resignation on July 21. In his resignation letter to the president, Dhankar cited health reasons for his decision.
