PArliament Monsoon Session unrecorded: Members of Parliament from oppositeness parties in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha began a process on mon from Makar Dwar in Parliament to the Election charge office at Nirvachan Sadan, Delhi. The procession started at 11.30 am and proceeded via Transport Bhawan.Earlier, Delhi Police stated that no permission had been requested yet for the march organised by the INDIA bloc. The march is a protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar and allegations of "voter fraud" during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. On the planned march, RJD MP Manoj Jha said, "... If you cannot meet MPs citing the excuse of space, then that in itself is a comment on what kind of work you are doing... This (SIR) is a fraud; you are not providing classified data. Despite the Supreme Court's instructions, your (Election Commission) stubbornness is not going away…"What happened in Parliament today?• The Lok Sabha was adjourned until 2 pm on Monday following loud protests by opposition parties demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s electoral rolls and other related matters.• When the House convened at 11 am after the weekend break, opposition MPs, including those from Congress, stood up, chanting slogans and displaying placards.• Speaker Om Birla initially attempted to proceed with Question Hour, permitting members to raise questions related to the Ministry of Environment and Forests despite the noise.• After about ten minutes, Birla stated that opposition members had been "systematically disrupting" the House’s proceedings for 14 days through their protests. The opposition is pressing for a discussion on the SIR exercise carried out by the Election Commission ahead of Bihar’s assembly elections later this year.• Meanwhile, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned until the post-lunch session shortly after proceedings began on Monday, as opposition MPs continued protesting alleged irregularities in Bihar’s SIR of electoral rolls.• Soon after the official papers were laid on the table, opposition members started shouting slogans and moved into the aisles and well of the House, prompting the adjournment until 2 pm.• Deputy Chairman Harivansh rejected 29 notices invoking Rule 267, which permits suspending listed business to discuss urgent matters raised by members.• As opposition MPs chanted slogans alleging “vote chori” (electoral theft) through the SIR, Harivansh requested that the scheduled Zero Hour, when members raise issues of public importance, be taken up.
