Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj releases first list of 51 candidates for Bihar assembly polls
PRashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj company on th released its number one lean of 51 candidates for Bihar gathering polls, scheduled next month. The party released the candidates for 51 assembly seats across 26 districts.The former strategist-turned-politician, who will be contesting the assembly elections for the first time, is trying to portray Jan Suraaj as a third alternative in Bihar, which is dominated by a two-party system.The list of candidates include: Drig Narain Prasad from Valmiki Nagar and Sunil Kumar from Lauriya in West Champaran districts, while Awdhesh Ram will contest from Harsidhi and Dr Lal Babu Prasad from Dhaka in East Champaran.Addressing a press conference here, party national president Udai Singh said Kishor is likely to hit the campaign trail on October 11 from Raghopur, the constituency of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.The party has also named Usha Kiran from Sursand, Vijay Kumar Sah from Runnisadipur, Md Parvej Alam from Benipatti, and Ram Pravesh Kumar Yadav from Nirmali.Raghib Bablu is contesting from Sikti, Abu Affan Farooque from Kochadhaman, and Afroz Alam from Amour.Bihar assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, while the results will be declared on November 14.Bihar has 243 assembly constituencies, including two seats reserved for STs and 38 for SCs.
