We are working very hard, the entire team is working day and night and we will make all efforts to make sure it is enjoyable for all of you,” he said.The union minister urged feedback, saying his team was “open-minded”. He further said that the response to the smmit was “phenomenal,” with 70,000 people attending on Tuesday.As the global artificial intelligence impact summit moves into its second day on Tuesday, it is witnessing a packed schedule of high-impact sessions and a strong lineup of international speakers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier today said the core objective of the India AI Impact Summit is to ensure that artificial intelligence serves the larger public good.In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Intelligence, rationality and decision-making ability make science and technology useful for every citizen. The objective of the India AI Impact Summit is also the same — to ensure that AI is used for the benefit of all.”The summit's focus remains firmly on the big questions shaping the future of AI – from job disruption and public health to algorithms, child safety and the growing demand for data centres.NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant spoke on the second day of the India AI Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Kant cautioned that without a framework of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), artificial intelligence risks creating a deeply unequal global society.He also stressed, “The important thing is that today we in India. I mean, if you look at open AI, Chat GPT, we are providing more data than the United States of America, 33% more data than what the United States of America do,” Kant added.Day 2 promises intense discussions around how AI is reshaping economies and societies. Panels will look at how automation could affect employment, how AI tools are being deployed in healthcare, and what safeguards are needed to ensure child safety and responsible algorithm design.The summit, being held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, is being billed as the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South.Expo draws global participationRunning alongside the summit is the India AI Impact Expo, which has brought together global technology firms, startups, academia, research institutions, Union ministries, state governments and international partners under one roof.Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India AI Impact Expo at Bharat Mandapam on Monday evening. He visited various stalls at the venue and interacted with companies and startups participating in the expo.The exhibition features over 600 high-potential startups and 13 country pavilions showcasing international collaboration in the AI ecosystem. Participating countries include Australia, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Estonia, Tajikistan and Africa.French President to joinFrench President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron arrived in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on Tuesday for their scheduled India visit till February 19. After their engagements in Mumbai, the delegation will travel to Delhi to attend the India AI Impact Summit 2026.The summit has generated significant public interest, with over 2.5 lakh visitors, including international delegates, expected to attend. According to an advisory, the event was opened to the general public from February 17 following its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
