Canada wins! Mitch Marner has scored the game winner in three-on-three overtime against the Czechs.

That was a close one, but Canada will now advance to the semifinals with the 4-3 win.

It's a word you probably thought you wouldn't hear today, but here we are. The Canadians and the Czechs are headed to overtime, tied 3-3, in Milan.

Since Sidney Crosby left the game, Canada's top forwards have been eating huge minutes. Leading the way so far among the forwards? That would be 19-year-old Macklin Celebrini, who's played 22:13 so far.

A primer on Olympic hockey overtime: We're doing 10 minutes of three-on-three play. If it's still tied, then we'll go to a five-round shootout.

Buckle up.

A sigh of relief for Canadians as Nick Suzuki ties it 3-3, with just over three minutes remaining in regulation.

Lots of poise and patience there from Suzuki in a tense moment in this quarterfinal game. The winner moves on to the semifinals. The loser goes home.

Czechia has pulled ahead 3-2 on Canada with less than eight minutes left in the third period.

The goal came from Ondrej Palat, who had time and space in the slot.

The injury appeared to happen off a hit from Czechia's Radko Gudas. Crosby struggled to put weight on his right side, and walked gingerly down the tunnel.

Connor McDavid feeding Macklin Celebrini the opening goal of the Canadian men's quarterfinal hockey game against Czechia was pure art.

The 19-year-old star scored his fifth goal of the Olympics. It's no surprise McDavid was the architect of that play.

Canada and Czechia are tied 2-2 at the end of the second period in this win-or-go-home game.

Overachieved so much, it's hard to keep count 🐐🎿

Five golds at these Winter Games. Ten Olympic medals total.

That's the kind of hardware Norwegian cross-country phenom Johannes Høsflot Klaebo has.

Not only can the 29-year-old set an average pace of 17 km/h up a seven-per-cent gradient hill on skis, he also tied the Winter Games record today for the most gold medals earned by an individual at an Olympics.

He's single-handedly keeping Norway in the lead of the Milano-Cortina medal standings. (Norway currently has 15 golds — five of which are Klaebo's).

12 medals for 12 days of the Winter Games

Speaking of medal count, Canada hasn't added any to its tally today — yet.

Canada hasn't had a good day in men's and women's snowboard slopestyle or women's freeski aerials.

We currently have 12 medals (three 🥇, four 🥈, five 🥉).

Later, short-track speed skater Courtney Sarault aims for her fourth medal in the women's 3,000-metre relay. The men's 500-metre short-track event wraps up today.

They met at the Olympics. Now they're getting hitched 💍

We don't like to talk much about Team USA on this page, mainly because they're our biggest sports rivals. But we can't avoid this.

Hockey captain Hilary Knight got down on one knee to propose to her girlfriend, speed skater Brittany Bowe in Milan.

The couple, who met at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, shared they're tying the knot on Instagram today.

A full circle moment. 🥹

Quick hits of pure joy:

I spent the day with the friends and families of Team Canada athletes in Milan, at the Ice Palazzo.

Today, families of the men's hockey team filled the place, which is decked out with Canadian art, installations, Muskoka chairs and even an ice rink. I had a conversation with Brandon Hagel's mom, dad and brother. Hagel plays for the Tampa Bay lighting and helped get his team to the Stanley Cup in the 2024-25 season. But as his family tells me, playing at the Olympics for Team Canada is something special.

"I love to watch him," said brother Tyler Hagel. "He kind of grew up watching me a little bit so you know it's nice to come and see him and cheer him on and make sure he feels that support."

I asked his dad about watching Hagel score a goal against France earlier this week — his first as an Olympian. Canada won that game 10-2.

"It was pretty cool. It's all surreal and it happened so fast," said Dwayne Hagel. "Our phone lights up — and your kid just scored an Olympic goal in the Olympic games."

The close-knit family said it's been a journey to get to this moment. Hagel's mom got choked up reflecting on her son's path here, which began as a young boy on the ice.

"There's no words that can express where he is right now and where we are as a family for him," said Nicole Hagel.

Canada has been pushing hard, but hasn't been able to pull ahead in this second period. We're tied 2-2.

They'll begin the third period on the power play.

In his absence, head coach Jon Cooper has moved Nathan MacKinnon up to the first line alongside Connor McDavid and Macklin Celebrini.

It's Canada's best chance to generate offence in this game, and they'll likely be seeing a lot of ice.

Canada has drawn even in this quarterfinal game against Czechia.

It's a power play goal for Nathan MacKinnon, off a pass from Macklin Celebrini.

We're at 2-2 here in the second period.
