HAMMER TIME FOR THE CANADIANS.

Here's a quick chart showing Canada's dominance in Olympic women's hockey. Team Canada has won all but two gold medals since the event was first introduced in Nagano in 1998.

The team's also played against the U.S. In every gold medal game except one: The 2006 Games in Turin, when Sweden pulled off one of the biggest upsets in women's hockey history, beating Team USA and advancing to — but ultimately losing — the gold medal game. The U.S. Took home bronze that year.

Cassie Campbell-Pascall on what it will take for Canada to take women's hockey gold

Hockey icon Cassie Campbell-Pascall looks back at the women's hockey rivalry between Canada and the U.S., Canada's 2002 win, and what she's watching for as Canada matches up against a strong U.S. Team in the gold-medal game.

We're less than three hours away from one of sports' biggest rivalries: Canada vs. The U.S., in women's hockey.

Team Canada, led by captain Marie-Philip Poulin, will hit the ice at Milan's Olympic arena just after 1 p.m. ET for the gold medal game.

Canada and the U.S. Have played each other in almost every Olympic gold-medal game since 1998 — with the exception of Torino in 2006.

The U.S. Comes into today having swept Canada in their last seven international games, including a defeat in the Olympic preliminary round.

Here's what former Canadian Olympic hockey medallist Cassie Campbell-Pascall says she's watching for from Canada's lines today.

Rachel Homan puts it on the button against four in the eighth end to take a 9-5 lead over Korea.

She really is meeting the moment today and it's beautiful to watch. On to the ninth end.

A very solid seventh end by the Canadians.

Korea is forced to a single and that makes it 8-5 for Canada.

Homan has the hammer in the eighth end looking to guide this thing to victory.

BOOM. 💥

The Canadians score four in the sixth end and now lead Korea 8-4 in this must-win game to make it into the playoffs at the Olympics.

Canada has something brewing with the hammer as Homan gets ready to throw her first.

It’s 4-4 in the sixth end of this must-win game.

But she's going to need the rest of the team to raise their level in the second half.

It's 4-4 at the break after Korea scores a single in the fifth. Canada has the hammer in the sixth end.

A magical tap for two in the fourth end.

It’s now 4-3 Canada leading Korea heading to the fifth end.

A split for three in the third end to take a 3-2 lead. Game on.

Canada has a hammer in the fourth end.
