Canada will play in the men's hockey gold-medal game on Sunday after a 3-2 victory over Finland.
They'll play the winner of the second semifinal, between Slovakia and the United States, later this afternoon.
The game winner came in the dying seconds of a power play, off the stick of Nathan MacKinnon. Canada climbed back from a 2-0 deficit, thanks to Finland goals from Mikko Rantanen and Erik Haula.
Sam Reinhart tipped in a goal on the power play for Canada, and then defenceman Shea Theodore tied it in the second.
Longino was one of a few to complete the first run and earned a score of 76.50 to put him in the top spot.
Brendan Mackay landed in fifth with a score of 37.75 after running into some trouble at the top of the halfpipe, while Dylan Marineau scored 22.50 and placed 10th.
Two more runs to go. The top scores out of three runs decide who takes home a medal.
Mackay, 28, is top among the three Canadians in the freeski halfpipe event but is considered an outside medal contender.
He captured the world title in 2023 and won a gold and a silver on the World Cup circuit last season. He finished seventh at last year's worlds and was 14th in each of his two World Cup starts this season.
The men's semifinal game is just the halfway point of a packed Day 14 at the Games. Here's what's still to come, believe it or not:
Freestyle skiing: Brendan Mackay is going for a medal in the men's halfpipe. He's the last of twelve skiers to go in the final, which is underway now. Fellow Canadians Dylan Marineau and Andrew Longino are set to go fifth and sixth in the first run.
Speed skating: Will Dandjinou, Steven Dubois, Felix Roussel and Maxime Laoun are expected to skate for Canada in the men's relay at 3:30 p.m. ET. Then Courtney Sarault goes for a Canadian record-tying fifth medal of these Olympics in the women's 1,500-metre final at 4:07 ET.
Curling: Team Norway, led by Magnus Ramsfjell, will play Team Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller for the bronze medal in men's curling. Canada plays Great Britain for the gold tomorrow.
Minutes after his team pulled off the comeback win, McDavid acknowledged his team has been "putting our country through it" with close games like this one and the overtime quarterfinal win against the Czechs.
"A lot of stressful mornings for everyone back home," he said. “But you know what? It's been fun."
Even though it was smooth sailing in the preliminary round, McDavid said the last two games have shown how close best-on-best hockey can be.
"We're playing the best teams in the world, the best players in the world, and they're going at it, giving it their all," McDavid said. "The margins are razor, razor thin. We've seen that all the way through."
McDavid had two assists tonight, including the primary helper on MacKinnon's game winner.
He also wore the captain's "C," with Crosby sidelined. He said he hopes that will just be temporary.
"I'm keeping the 'C' warm for him," McDavid said. "It's a special thing to represent your country. To wear a 'C' for a group like this, it means everything to me."
Crosby was absent from today's game, of course, but his fellow Nova Scotian stepped up to the plate for Canada.
MacKinnon, who grew up playing minor hockey in Crosby's Cole Harbour, has spoken before about being "very close" with his teammate.
"I mean, he's eight years older than I am. So when he first entered the league, I was 10, you know, a ripe age to be a fan and obviously very close. Now, I learn a lot from him, obviously on the ice, but especially off the ice. He's such a good person. Treats everyone so well, great sense of humour. Just a fun guy to be around," MacKinnon said before these Games.
"I don't know who's had more decorated Olympic moments. I mean, he scored in both gold-medal games. Just very clutch, obviously. I mean, he's a special player, a special person, obviously the captain. So yeah, amazing person."

You can’t script it any better than this. Canada's Nathan MacKinnon has scored a go-ahead goal with 35 seconds left on the clock.
The goal was reviewed for offside, but the call on the ice stood.
Canada leads Finland 3-2.
Finland is also assessed a penalty for an unsuccessful challenge.
The crowd here at Blues Canal in Milan went wild for the tying goal.
None of the bars on this street are on the same feed, so when we heard a huge cheer erupt two doors down, we knew it was about to happen.
Team Norway, led by Magnus Ramsfjell, will face Team Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller rink for the bronze medal in men's curling.
Key for both teams will be putting the disappointment of losing their respective semifinal games yesterday behind them. Norway fell 5-4 in extra ends to Brad Jacobs of Canada, while the Swiss dropped an 8-5 decision to Great Britain.
Switzerland was the class of the tournament in earlier round-robin play, posting a 9-0 record that included a 10-4 drubbing of Norway.
Canada takes on Great Britain for the gold medal on Saturday at 1:05 p.m ET.
Canadian defenceman Shea Theodore has tied the game with a bomb of a shot that sailed through the bodies in front and appeared to go in off Finnish goaltender Juuse Saros’s shoulder.
It's 2-2 here with less than 10 minutes to play. Time for a deep breath!
