Olympic gold and silver-medalist Cassie Sharpe of Comox, B.C., had already qualified for the Olympic women's freeski halfpipe final, when she crashed during her second run.

This morning's lineup is missing one notable competitor: Cassie Sharpe, who suffered a scary crash during qualification on Thursday.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Freestyle Canada said the 33-year-old from Comox, B.C., is out of hospital but had not been cleared by medical staff to participate in the final.
Sharpe released her own update on Instagram on Saturday morning, saying she was dealing with a heavy concussion and a face contusion.
"It's hard to accept. But sometimes health, family, friends, life, it's bigger than sport, even when it's the Olympics," she said.
Sharpe won halfpipe gold at Pyeongchang 2018 and silver at Beijing 2022, and had already qualified for the final before the crash.
