The ‌Israeli military said it has targeted the complex of Iran's ‌state broadcaster IRIB in Tehran, following an evacuation warning in the area.

In Kernan, 800 kilometres southeast of Tehran, the Tasnim news agency reported that 13 Iranian troops had been killed in airstrikes.

As well, International Atomic Energy Agency said Tuesday that Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment site sustained "some recent damage" during a U.S.-Israeli airstrike campaign, focused on "entrance buildings" to the underground portion of the atomic site. Natanz earlier came under attack by the U.S. In the 12-day Iran-Israel war in June.

Since the outbreak of war early Saturday, the U.S. Military said it had struck more than 1,250 targets in Iran so far and destroyed 11 Iranian ships.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz says he has authorized the Israeli military to take additional positions in Lebanon after rockets were fired into Israel Sunday by Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militia group. Israel had occupied five positions in southern Lebanon when it invaded in November 2024, an outgrowth of the war that began a year earlier with Palestinian militants Hamas.

Lebanon's state-run National News Agency said the Lebanese army was evacuating some of its positions along the border. Meanwhile, explosions could be heard and smoke seen in a suburb of the capital Beirut.

The United Arab Emirates has issued a statement denying what it calls “false and misleading” claims in a Bloomberg report that suggests the Gulf states are running low on air-defence interceptors. In the statement, the UAE’s foreign ministry said its defence capabilities and national security framework remain “steadfast and uncompromised.”

Guido Crosetto, Italy’s defence minister, says Gulf countries have formally requested anti-drone and anti-aircraft systems, including the Franco-Italian SAMP/T missile battery, though he warned Italy’s own capacity is already stretched by support for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Qatar has shut liquefied natural gas production at its main export facility after a drone strike, leading to steep rises in European gas prices.

A spokesperson for China's foreign ministry, ‌in its regular daily press briefing, urged all parties to stop military operations in Iran and prevent ‌the further spread of war.

Calling for the involved parties to return to dialog, ‌the spokesperson said China was deeply concerned about the spread of war into other countries and would continue to play a constructive role in striving for peace.

The U.S. State Department ordered all non-emergency government personnel and their family members located in Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar to immediately leave the countries.

The warnings were shared across multiple posts on the @TravelGov X account after two drone attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh.

The Associated Press

Airstrikes by the United States and Israel have killed at least 787 people in Iran since the start of the war, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.

Iran has hit the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia's capital with a drone strike as it keeps striking targets around the region, while the United States and Israel pound Iran with airstrikes. U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested this is just the start of a relentless campaign that could last more than a month.

The intensity of the attacks, the killing of Iran's supreme leader, and the lack of any apparent exit plan indicate the conflict would not end anytime soon.

The U.S. Closed its embassies in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on Tuesday as the war in Iran escalates.

"Due to ongoing regional tensions, the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait will be closed until further notice. We have canceled all regular and emergency consular appointments.  We will communicate when the embassy returns to normal operations," a post on the official X account for the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait read.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was also closed after two drone attacks on the building. The embassy also recommended U.S. Citizens in Saudi Arabia shelter in place.

Defence Minister David McGuinty acknowledged there's some disagreement within the Liberal Party over the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

The comment comes after Victoria MP Will Greaves argued Canada "cannot endorse the unilateral and illegal use of military force" on Iran while insisting its own sovereignty must be respected.

The video was "liked" by a handful of other Liberal MPs.

"We can be clear-eyed about Iran’s human rights record and its abuses and the destructive role it has played in the Middle East, and still insist on consistency, restraint and the protection of civilians, because that’s what credibility looks like in a fracturing world," Greaves said.

McGuinty said the Liberals are a "big tent" party and that not everybody has to agree with the government's position. Carney endorsed the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes, while some of his cabinet ministers have since called for a negotiated end to the conflict.

Defence Minister David McGuinty also told reporters travelling with Carney in Australia that he regards the late Ayatollah Khamenei as "evil."

Asked if Canada believes his death is a positive development, McGuinty said the former theocratic leader of the Islamic republic has been "for many, many decades a very, very powerful force for evil in Iran and in the region."

McGuinty said that under the late Ayatollah's leadership, the Iranian regime has funded proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza and militias in Iraq and elsewhere, causing violence, bloodshed and instability throughout the region.

"We know what's been happening and led through Iranian proxies. We know where funding and financing has been coming from, we know the extent of the involvement of the Iranian regime in, for example, organized criminal syndicates."

Hi there, I'm J.P. Tasker, a reporter travelling with Prime Minister Mark Carney in Australia.

We spoke to Defence Minister David McGuinty shortly after landing here in Sydney from India, and he reiterated Canada's support for the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran.

But McGuinty also said the government is pushing for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict to avoid further escalation.

"Let's hope the cooler heads prevail. Let's hope things calm down," he said. "We would all rather see peaceful dialogue."

"Of course, we're watching this very carefully. It's a very serious moment. We're not underestimating that. But Canada will use its diplomatic efforts to try and stabilize the situation."

War in the Middle East quickly spread Monday, as the U.S. And Israel continued to pound Iran, and Tehran and its allies struck back, hitting neighbouring Gulf states and targets critical to the world's supply of oil and natural gas.
