DK Metcalf height and weight: Steelers star's brilliant stats surface after Vikings touchdown

DK Metcalf’s imposing sizing and strenuosity were on full display in Dublin as he scored the longest touchdown from scrimmage in NFL International history. The Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver hauled in an 80-yard strike from quarterback Aaron Rodgers, helping his side to a 14-3 lead over the Minnesota Vikings early in the second quarter.
The play was executed to perfection. Rodgers threaded the ball between Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson and safety Harrison Smith, finding Metcalf on a post route. From there, the receiver used his speed and strength to wheel downfield, aided by a block from Calvin Austin III, before crossing into the end zone.
Metcalf was electric in the opening stages of the game, collecting four receptions for 122 yards across the Steelers’ first three possessions. Before this game, both of his touchdowns in Pittsburgh colors had come from contested red zone catches. His long-range score in Dublin provided a glimpse of what he can add to the Steelers’ attack beyond jump balls.
Another NBC report stated that quarterback Aaron Rodgers also looked flawless, going 9-for-9 for 145 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter and a half. Running back Kenneth Gainwell had earlier punched in a one-yard score for Pittsburgh’s opening touchdown.
On the opposite side, Minnesota quarterback Carson Wentz had also been sharp, completing all seven of his passes for 71 yards, but the Vikings failed to finish drives while Pittsburgh turned theirs into points.
Metcalf’s frame has always been a talking point in the NFL. At 6’4” and 229 pounds, he combines the height and physicality of a tight end with the pace of a wideout, making him one of the most difficult players to defend.
Ahead of the international fixture, Metcalf was quoted as saying in a Steelers Now report, “I am not here to explore. I am here for the football game.”
The Steelers acquired Metcalf via trade on the eve of free agency in March. Before this game, he had only 135 receiving yards through the first three weeks of the season. The Dublin touchdown could mark the beginning of his resurgence in black and gold.
