Qatar's state oil giant QatarEnergy reported "extensive damage" after the Ras Laffan Industrial City was hit by Iranian missiles.
Ras Laffan Industrial City is the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in the world, according to the website of QatarEnergy, the state-owned oil and gas company.
On X, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry condemned the attack and said it marked a dangerous escalation. The ministry wrote that Qatar would not hesitate to respond to attacks on its security and sovereignty.
Since the U.S. And Israel attacked Iran to start the war on Feb. 28, Iran has been targeting the energy infrastructure of its Gulf Arab neighbours, as well as military bases, as part of a strategy to drive up oil prices and put pressure on Washington to back down.
Saudi Arabia said it had intercepted and destroyed four ballistic missiles launched toward its capital, Riyadh, on Wednesday and an attempted drone attack on a gas facility in the east of the country.
Most previous Iranian strikes have hit in eastern Saudi Arabia, close to Iran and home to major Saudi oil installations.
The kingdom's air defences have intercepted most of the incoming missiles, but strikes have killed at least two migrant workers and an American soldier at an air base in Al Kharj.

This comes after Iran said its South Pars gas field and associated infrastructure came under attack from Israel earlier on Wednesday.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian denounced attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure in a statement on X, saying such attacks would not help Israel and the United States.
"This will complicate the situation and could have uncontrollable consequences, the scope of which could engulf the entire world," he wrote.
Iran used some of its latest missiles to evade air defences and kill two people near Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile, the price of oil surged another six per cent to over $109 per barrel on international markets, increasing the cost of gasoline and other goods, putting pressure on consumers and economies worldwide. The price of Brent crude, the international benchmark for oil, is now up close to 50 per cent since the start of the war.
Iran has made navigation through shipping channels in the Strait of Hormuz virtually impossible. The U.S. Treasury Department eased sanctions on Venezuela in an attempt to boost world oil supplies.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said Wednesday that the military had killed Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, which was later confirmed by Iranian state television.
Katz added that "significant surprises are expected throughout this day on all the fronts," without elaborating.
This follows Israel's killing on Tuesday of top Iranian security official Ali Larijani and Gen. Gholam Reza Soleimani, the head of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard's all-volunteer Basij force.
Iran's new supreme leader issued a rare statement offering condolences for Larijani's killing. Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei's written statement was published in Iranian media on Wednesday, a day after Israel said it killed Iran's top security official.
"Undoubtedly, the assassination of such a person shows the extent of his importance and the hatred of the enemies of Islam towards him," he wrote. "All blood has its price that the criminal murderers of the martyrs must pay soon."

Meanwhile, Israel killed at least 12 people in its latest strikes on Lebanon, which hit multiple apartment buildings in Beirut.
Israel flattened an apartment building about an hour after issuing an evacuation notice — the fourth time the building was targeted. Israel's military claimed it was being used by Hezbollah to store "millions of dollars intended to finance its activities," without providing evidence.
Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said a projectile caused a small fire at the country's base in the U.A.E. Near Dubai, but caused no injuries. His comments appeared to correspond with explosions heard near Al Minhad Air Base, used by Western nations as a transit hub for the wider Mideast.

Missile alerts sounded again later in Dubai as the sound of interceptors exploding overhead boomed across the city-state.
U.S. President Donald Trump, who has grown increasingly frustrated that no allies have stepped forward after he said he demanded others send ships to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, posted on social media Tuesday that "WE DON'T NEED THE HELP OF ANYONE!"
Responding to Israel's killing of Larijani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and one of the country's most powerful figures, the Republican Guard said Wednesday it had targeted central Israel with multiple-warhead missiles. These have an increased chance of evading missile defence systems and can overwhelm radar tracking systems.
Israel reported at least two salvos of incoming fire and the country's medical service said two people were killed in Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv.
Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard said the force launched the Khorramshahr-4 and Qadr multiple-warhead missiles to avenge Larijani's killing. Footage filmed by The Associated Press showed at least one missile releasing cluster munitions over Israel.
Larijani, a former parliamentary speaker, was a senior policy adviser to the late supreme leader Ali Khamenei on strategy in nuclear talks with the Trump administration. He was sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury in January for his role "co-ordinating" Iran's violent suppression of nationwide protests.
The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad also came under fire for the second day in a row early Wednesday, two Iraqi security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment.
Pro-Iran militia groups have been regularly attacking American targets in Iraq since the war started. On Tuesday, a drone crashed inside the embassy compound in Baghdad.
More than 1,300 people have been killed in Iran since the conflict started on Feb. 28, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.
In Lebanon, 968 people have been killed by Israeli strikes, according to its Health Ministry. In Israel, 14 people have been killed by Iranian missile fire, local authorities say.
The U.S. Said that at least 13 of its military members have been killed in the ongoing war so far.
