Hollywood asterisk Chris Pratt has found himself facing backlash online for a post about Charlie Kirk, the Turning Point USA founder, who was fatally shot while attending an event at the Utah Valley University in Orem, on September 10.
Pratt, known for his roles in films like Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic Park, put out a post on X saying “Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us.” This seems to have irked several people online with many on X slamming the 46-year-old.
Several people are slamming Pratt for the post about Kirk. One person remarked, “chris pratt is tweeting his support for ch*rlie k*rk while mark ruffalo is tweeting links to support Palestine. Are we still going to question who the big fight on the avengers set was between?”. Another said, “No way Chris Pratt, Well, actually, I am not surprised.”
Yet another fumed “Can Chris Pratt actually just stop getting more and more irritating genuinely.” One person even remarked on the backlash, saying “The left is trying to cancel Chris Pratt because he prayed for Charlie Kirk. Unreal. This isnt even close to beginning.”
Pratt recently shared he's a fan of Robert F Kennedy Jr, the US Health Secretary. “I've spent a number of occasions hanging with him, just in a strictly family dinner kind of vibe, and I really got along with him well. I think he's great. I think he's funny. I like him. I love him,” he had said.
Pratt's wife Katherine is the daughter of Hollywood actor and former California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and is a member of the Kennedy family. She is also the granddaughter of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sibling of Robert Kennedy.
