The indorse dark of the 55th yearly Juno Awards ar kicking away tonight, after a majority of the roughly 50 categories were awarded at a banquet on Saturday.
Among those winners, the clear leader was Alberta's Tate McRae. The pop star had 17 prior Juno nominations ahead of this year's ceremony, and won six awards in 2024 and 2025 including trophies for artist and single of the year for Greedy.
She added to her stat sheet this year with an additional six nominations — of which she's already won four: artist, single (Sports Car), pop album and album (So Close to What) of the year.
The only award she failed to win was songwriter of the year, which instead went to Daniel Caesar, whose real name is Ashton Simmonds.
The only award she could potentially still take tonight is fan choice, one of only four categories left to be awarded Sunday.
McRae did not attend the ceremonies Saturday.
Sunday's award categories are:
Fan choice: Tate McRae, bbno$, Cameron Whitcomb, James Barker Band, Josh Ross, Justin Bieber, Karan Aujla, Shawn Mendes, Shubh, The Weeknd.
Breakthrough artist or group of the year: Cameron Whitcomb, Goldie Boutilier, Jade LeMac, Jutes, MICO, Noeline Hofmann, Sacha, Saya Gray, Sofia Camara, yung kai.
Group of the year: Arcade Fire, Mother Mother, Peach Pit, The Beaches, Three Days Grace
Contemporary R&B recording of the year: Sad Boi, Adria Kain, Avenoir, Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Majid Jordan
Saturday also featured two wins for singer Aysanabee, who picked up both the alternative album and contemporary Indigenous artist or group of the year awards for Edge of the Earth.
There was a tie for adult alternative album of the year: both Bahama's My Second Last Album and Begonia's Fantasy Life were awarded.
And with five nominations for Hurry Up Tomorrow, The Weeknd's shut-out marks the first time in his career to see a studio album go unawarded at the Junos since his debut, Kiss Land.
With 22 career wins, he is currently the second-most awarded artist at the Junos, trailing Anne Murray with 26. The Weeknd is still eligible for fan choice tonight.
Also expected Sunday are performances by Arkells, The Beaches, Daniel Caesar, Cameron Whitcomb and more, as well as tributes to Joni Mitchell and Nelly Furtado.
Furtado will be inducted into Canadian Music Hall of Fame Sunday and Mitchell will receive a lifetime achievement award.
Billy Talent received a humanitarian award Saturday, while Daniel Caesar will receive an international achievement award Sunday.
